Whitewater kayaking lessons

Take The Rust Off

This 3 hour whitewater kayak clinic is for whitewater kayakers who have not paddled for a while and would like “To Take The Rust Off”!

We meet at Kinsmen beach and will help to inspect your gear and practice the wet exit, refine your rolls and paddle strokes. A instructor will be updating you about the latest trends in paddling, safety on moving water and be there for any of your questions.
This includes a Burger and a drink at the www.ColumbiaRiverCafe.com

One Day Wannabe – Some class 1-2 rapids

This one day whitewater kayak clinic is a rapid introduction (excuse the pun) to whitewater!

We will take you right from never having paddled before to learning strokes, skills and running some class 1-2 rapids! Beginning on the warm beachfront of Lake Windermere we ease you into safety, paddle strokes and rolling. After we are feeling comfortable in our new equipment on the water we will head over to our afternoon river run on the Columbia River! This is a class 1 section of river that is a great environment to practice, make mistakes and learn!

This lesson runs on Saturdays- feel free to request a different day if you have 4 or more people!

Two Day Tease – Class 1-2 rapids

The 2-day River Tease is a compact whitewater kayak course perfect for trying out the sport.

If you are not sure if it’s the sport for you or you have just never found the time to try it—here is your package. On this course we will get you trying out class 1-2 rapids and experiencing all the thrills that come along with them!

four-day-frenzy

Five Day Frenzy – Beginner or refresher – up to Class 3 rapids

The 5-day River Starter is a great length of course to get you paddling through class II+ rapids with confidence.

When you are finished this 5-day course you will be able to maneuver your kayak through rapids with little difficulty, you will understand how moving water works, and you will have the general concepts of how to roll. Who knows—maybe you will be a natural and have your roll by the end of the week!
